Journal

Name what you taste.

Start with nine flavour families, from nutty to fruity to roasted, then narrow each one down to the notes beneath it: 93 in all. Link the bean and the recipe, add a few words of your own, and the entry is dated for you.

Interrupted? Save it as a draft and finish it later.

Mock-up of a new tasting: fields for beans, recipe and location above a flavour wheel with Fruity, Floral and Sweet picked, and Berry and Citrus Fruit chosen from the fruity notes.

Places

Every cup, on the map.

Add where you had a coffee: search for the café, pick one from the cafés nearby, use your current location or drop a pin. Your tastings then gather on a map of your journal.

Maps from OpenStreetMap. Your location is read only while you choose a place, with your permission, and never in the background.

Mock-up of the journal home screen: a street map with three pins where coffees were logged, above a list of recent tastings.
Mock-up of a saved tasting called Afternoon Coffee, showing its flavours, the bean, the recipe and the café where it was drunk.

Beans

Beans worth buying again.

Save the coffees you buy with their roaster, origin, variety, process, roast level and tasting notes.

Looking for something new? Search Bean Finder, a catalogue of beans you can filter by country, roast level and process.

Brewing

Brew it the same way twice.

Save the recipes that worked, with the dose, water, temperature, grind, time and ratio. Trying a new method? Start from a brew guide, and save it as a recipe of your own.

Keep a list of the brewers, grinders and other kit you own, too.

Mock-up of an AeroPress recipe: 18 g of coffee, 240 ml of water at 85 degrees, a fine grind, 1 minute 30 and a 1:13.3 ratio, followed by three steps.
